20 Minutes of Fresh Milk 9/24/2019

I don't know where I left off last week so last Monday I went shopping and bought a bunch of food.

After Pday ended, we went to an FHE with the people in the branch (mini congregation).

Tuesday we went and did service for a lady across from the Gs (senior missionary couple). We ended up not having much to do but she gave us $20 to go buy lunch. As we were walking back home, an old guy stopped us and we talked to him for a long time. He spoke most of the time and gave us his life story. We get that a lot. He lived alone and was lonely. He was super nice though and had an organ in his house which was cool. With the $20 we were given, we manged to buy lunch and dinner for both of us. If I live in Utah, I will have to spoil the missionaries to pay back everything that I have been given. We had another lesson with R and taught him the 10 commandments and the Law of Chastity. He is an amazing kid. I am super excited for him to get baptized. We met with more bishops about  missionary work in their ward. We then set a goal for the transfer to have 4 baptisms which is super exciting! For lunch we got a teriyaki bowl for free and had guava juice with it. For dinner we had burgers with lemon custard.

Service on Wednesday we helped with the shed again. We helped move shingles from inside to the roof assembly line style. They had ripe grape vines and so I had some grapes whilst working. Then he got us a microwave meatloaf recipe that I am excited to try. We set up an appointment to clean this other lady's windows as well. Later we went around with a member named B. He had recently gotten back from his mission in West Virginia (wild and wonderful). We didn't have any luck until we had a lesson with a lady that spoke Tagalog and only a little English. Her husband is a super hunter and just got back from hunting in Africa. They had heads of animals everywhere and had a stool made from an elephant foot. We shared 2 Nephi 2:25 which says "Adam fell that men might be and men are that they might have joy" and talked about how Jesus loves us and if we lean on him, we can have lasting Joy. We went to Zao for dinner which was some good Asian food and met with another bishop who gave us some people to visit.

We cleaned the lady's windows. Well, I pruned the bushes while Elder W did most of the cleaning. He worked for 2 years cleaning windows. I did a little at the end. Then we went and worked on the shed some more. After, he took us to In and Out and he talked for a while there. We came back and took a nap which put us even more behind schedule. I also stuffed myself during dinner so that evening I had a stuffed stomach which was unfortunate. We had another lesson with R. He is a much better person that I was at his age. Then we had a lesson with a little girl named C. She is super hyperactive. We shared the first vision. When we watched the video on it, she and the rest of the room got super peaceful and the spirit was really strong testifying of the truth of the Restoration.

The next day we had multi district counsel. It was long but was interesting. We talked about how we can teach effectively. Elder G (district leader) had Elder W and I give a demo teaching visit in front of the district. It actually went pretty well. We did a good job playing off each other and teaching the person not a lesson. Then we practiced talking to people and the person we talked to said we did the best job talking to him which was great. We had to delete area book and redownload it because it wasn't working but that deleted all of our unsaved lesson reports so we had to go back and fix all of that. We also transferred all of the area notes. We then went to the TEMPLE. We went with a recent convert with the youth in the branch. I had never been to the Bountiful temple which was pretty. It was super cool and the spirit was super strong. I got to do confirmations for the first time. We then got a text that our _______ (C) was admitted in the hospital which was crazy.

Saturday we talked to a less active member named T. He was really funny and went on a 25 minute rant about how he was raised on fresh milk and it tasted way better than store milk and we were like that's nice. He wants to come back to church. He has a testimony and knows that him mom who died wants him to come back. Then we went to a chili cookoff. I participated in a pie eating contest but lost. I got 4th place by just licking it to protect my white shirt.

We went to 3 different sacrament meetings today. It was a lot of fun. We met another bishop. We also got to watch a primary program (program put on by kids about 8 and younger) which was hilarious as usual. We had another lesson with R and went over the baptismal questions with him. Unicorns are tasty - Voldemort. Every time I talk to him I am amazed. For dinner we ate with a couple that just got back from a senior couple mission. They were great. WE then went and met with a less active family. They are great people but have just been busy on Sunday and lost the habit of coming to church. We had a great time getting to know them.

This week I have noticed how I am able to feel God's love for the people I talk to and that helps me love them and want to help them as well.

Today we went shopping and then went to a chapel and played sports with the zone.
That was a blast.
