The Best Mission In The Universe Or Any Others 9/30/2019
Hold on to your
hats, things are going to get wild. Tuesday morning we went and did service for
M again (the lady across from the Gs). We helped prepare her yard for
winter some more and when we were done with that, we went and helped the Gs
with their yard as well. They fed us lunch and we talked about who they are
teaching. Later we had a lesson with R. This time her husband and son were
there as well as B. B called his friend that spoke Tagolog to help teach
her. R then decided that she likes speaking english rather than Tagolog
which was kinda awkward but oh well. We taught her the Restoration and we showed
them a video of the First Vision. We then shared our testimonies of the First
Vision and the Restoration. Every time we show the First Vision video, I feel
the spirit testifying that the First Vision did happen.
I totally
forgot to write in my journal for Wednesday so I don't have a ton about what
happened then. Some highlights were all of our appointments for the day being
canceled last minute including our dinner appointment. We decided to make a
microwave meatloaf that we had gotten the recipe for earlier. Cheetos are of
the devil. Instead of taking about 30 minutes to make, it took two and a half
hours to make. Part of this was the issue that we didn't have any measuring
equipment so we had to eyeball everything based on a 2 cup pickle jar. We also
made jello (courtesy of Elder William K).
Thursday was
Zone conference. Long story short, it was great.
This reminded me of D&C 84:88 that says "For I will go before your
face. I will be on you right hand and on your left, and my spirit shall be in
your hearts, and mine angels round about you to bear you up."
The
blessing combined with the prayers of all the missionaries who prayed for him
had protected him. I know the preisthood was restored through the prophet
Joseph Smith and that he got it through Peter, James, and John who got it from
Jesus Christ.
Friday was the
Trainer Trainee meeting. It was long and super spiritual but for the sake of
the sanity of you all I will leave it at that.
Saturday we
were about to go do service for this couple but they called last minute and
cancelled. Later in the day, Elder W shared our testimonies of the
church with each other which was really cool. We then picked up R and
picked out some church clothes for him and went to a baptism of a girl that
Elder W used to teach. Then we went to the adult session of stake (a
group of congregations) conference. He didn't fall asleep or anything which was
great.
Sunday was the
general session of Stake Conference. They released the stake presidency and
called a new one. At the end the last speaker was one of the 70 and had 30
minutes left to speak. I was like please don't speak for that long. As I said
this, he called Elder W and I out and had us stand up and introduce
ourselves and then come up and give our testimonies. I have no idea of what I
said but afterwards a bunch of people thanked me for my testimony so it must
have not been awful at the very least. We then had a lesson with some people
that were recently baptized and that went well. We talked about patriarchal
blessings and General Conference.
Today's hidden
sentence is one of my dad's biggest opinions.
