I go back to Seminary 10/21/2019

For the rest of Monday, we went to a member's mansion in North Salt Lake which was enourmous. The had 2 pools, tennis courts, a raquetball court, golf simulator, shuffle board, ping pong, and arcade games. It was lots of fun. Afterwards, our ride got lost so we had to give him directions to there. That evening, we went to the G's and Elder W called home to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving.

Tuesday we did service for the guy with the shed. We picked up things from his storage unit and loaded them in his truck then drove them to his house and put them in the shed. We had to take 3 or 4 trips and we found a dead mouse in the carpet which was exciting. We found it right after someone joked about a dead rat. We had dinner at Sizzler and I got a bacon wrapped steak which was amazing. Later we had a lesson with R about the Preisthood. Our lesson was super confusingly given but R is so awesome that he understood a lot of what we were saying which was it's own little miracle.

Wednesday was the weirdest day of my mission and probably my life. After service, we were waiting for the lady to come back from the bank. We decided that we should go and get ready to go to a meeting with the seminary principal. As we were walking back, we started sprinting for a good 15 seconds but we weren't sure why. As we were walking through the church parking lot, a car coming through it rolled down the window and a lady was like "I felt prompted that I should stop and ask you for a blessing. I'm on my way to the Emergency Room." She pulled over and we went inside and gave her a blessing. Some of the things said in the blessing parts of her life that had nothing to do with what she told us and after she told us that they were what she needed. She told us then that she had been baptized and then had gone on a mission less than a year later and had gotten back 2ish years ago. If we had not have sprinted for the 15 seconds or had left the house when we did, we would not have seen her and she wouldn't have stopped. Then I made a triumphant return to Seminary! We met with the principal of the local seminary to talk to him about any nonmembers taking seminary and talking to the people there to encourage them to invite their friends. After dinner, we left our bikes at the house where we ate and got picked up by a couple who we were going with to an appointment. The lady we were going to visit wasn't there but left us a cake and a note telling us that she got another job and couldn't get in contact with us (we goofed and didn't leave our number). We decided to visit M since she was nearby and the same couple had been there last time. We went and visited with her and was there for almost an hour talking about cool family history stories and temples. After, we were going back to where our bikes were and we passed the house. We decided just to get out and walk. As we were unlocking our bikes, a car pulls in and someone gets out and starts walking towards us. It was dark but she gets closer and said "Hi I'm Bonnie Cordon, where are you Elders from?". She is the Young Women's (11-18 year old) General President and she was there to visit her daughter and grandkids. After she told us this she wished us a good evening and went to the house. Look back at that and see all the weird timing changes that happened for us to meet her. If that isn't a miracle that idk what is.

Thursday I went on exchanges with Elder C (from my MTC district!). We had a lot of fun making references to different movies. We taught a lesson to a guy named D who is awesome. We had a great lesson (despite both of us being only out 5 weeks (Greenie Power!!!)). We talked about how we can be clean through the Atonement of Jesus Christ and can overcome all our troubles, temptations, and addictions. We showed him the video Reclamied and talked about how Satan just tempts us to do little things and talked about the story of Lehonti and Amalakiah (thanks John Bytheway). I also got to hear a story about a bishop. Elder C and Elder G asked a bishop to have the first 10 minutes of a meeting. The bishop responded that they could go after they talked about the ward Halloween party. I died laughing and thought of Ron saying "she needs to get her priorities straight".

Friday we went to the DI for service and got R an embossed triple combination (Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenents, and Pearl of Great Price). Later for dinner we ate with an awesome member. He works for the church in temple construction. He helped out with the DC temple and most other ones. He also has access to the tunnels underneath temple square. We had a lesson with R about always being worthy so that God can always count on him to serve and applied that to the priesthood and our experience with the lady on the way to the ER a couple days earlier. He then challenged himself to invite his friend to meet with missionaries because his friend had noticed a change in him. One of my first lessons that I remember with him, we promised him that if he would live the gospel and be true to it, he would become an example to the people that he has always looked up to and they would look up to him which was a really cool thing to see that come to pass.

Saturday we didn't do much. Elder W was sick. We went to the pharmacy and got drugs. We also chatted with C about I.

To keep things short, we went to 2 sacrament meetings Sunday and had a meeting with President Hawley. Lots of people were gone for Fall Break (utah spring break?). Elder W called home for his mom's birthday.

Miracle of the Week: Monday night we were walking back from contacting someone when we stopped and talked to one of our neighbors. He is a big Polynesian

guy who was a bishop before going inactive and not following the commandments. As we were talking to him, he told us about a lady who he was working for that she was telling him her problems and he shared the gospel with her. He gave us her information and we were able to give it to missionaries in her area.

Quote of the Week: "My favorite miracle is when Jesus healed the leopards"
