Get 'Em Kanye 1/27/2020
better so we went and visited some people. Our lesson with J cancelled which was disappointing. We then visited C and her husband came in and started trying to bash with us so we kinda sat there and just told him what we knew to be true. Oh well. Then we went and visited some people that one of our bishops asked us to and they were all not happy to see us (thanks bishop :P). We also talked to this lady and her daughter and she wants to be taught.
Wednesday we went and visited someone in the the senior
center then went and set up our new calendar. Then we had a lesson with C about the Plan of Salvation and then we ran and had a lesson with CH about baptism and the restoration. Afterwards, we went and helped some people
move some couches in their house before dinner. After dinner, Elder SH wasn't feeling well so we stayed inside. During that time, I was reading Jesus
The Christ and it was talking about the Atonement. A sense of awe came over me
as I thought of the wonderful gift that we undeservingly receive that is the
Atonement. The only person who didn't have to suffer because of Sin took all of
our sins on himself so we could be saved. He did it just because he loves us. I
felt a powerful spiritual witness of the love Christ has for me and for
everyone.
Thursday we went around and set up some lessons for later.
In the evening we taught J and B and we watched one of the 12 step
video's about confession and talked about the enabling power of the Atonement
which allows us to change our nature and overcome addiction.
Friday we had district council and we talked about goals and
using Christ's words in the Book of Mormon. Then we went and sat down with
Elder K and set some goals for the month. Then we talked to a girl who had
been taught before and was going to young women activities and had a great
discussion with her and her grandparents.
Saturday we had 2 lessons cancel which was disappointing. We
went and visited Brother G and talked to him about his neighbors. Then we
went and talked to a mom and her two kids and talked to them about how we can
help them get baptized. In the evening we went to the G family and they had a
rough day. Their daughter was in the hospital so we talked to them and shared a
message of hope with them. While we were there, one of their dogs was trying to
start a fight with their cat Kanye and Kanye was not taking the dogs nonsense.
Kanye turned around and leaped in the air and swatted at the dog and the dog
freaked our and ran away. We thought that was the funniest thing ever.
Sunday we went to 2 churches and only 1 one the people we
invited came which was disappointing. We went and knocked on one of the people
that were supposed to have come and they had slept in. Elder Sh was done
after 2 meetings and wanted to go and eat. We had a lesson then with C about the 10 commandment and Lehi's vision of the tree of life. The rest of the
night consisted of us visiting people and them not being there.
Miracle of the Week: We were going around and visiting
people and we went and visited someone. We asked if she was interested in
meeting with missionaries. She told us that she had just gone to a young
women's activity for the first time the day before and her grandma who lived
there had decided that she wanted to go back to church again. She invited us
back and we are going to try and have a lesson with her later.
