I meet President Nelson 1/20/2020
During lunch, the Layton Zone Leaders and our Zone Leaders both showed up 5 minutes apart which was weird. We were halfway to having all the zone leaders in the mission in our apartment at once. We then picked up our pinewood derby cars we made on P-day.
Wednesday Elder S got transfered and I got my new
companion. His name is Elder Sh and he is from Calgary. We did a big clean
of our apartment and went and met with a bishop. Then we went and talked to
some people he recommended we visit. We then talked to the councilors in the
Stake Presidency as well as the high councilor over missionary work.
Thursday we went and visited members of the branch
presidency about the branch in a senior center nearby. Then we finished
cleaning the apartment and I made cookies from cookie dough we got from a
dinner we had with a member. We visited V and then went and talked to a
ward mission leader. Then we hit the streets and went to a bunch of people's
houses to try to set up appointments or lessons and found some potential people
to teach.
Friday we had multidistrict council. We talked about using
the Book of Mormon to teach the restoration as well as when talking to people
at the door. We also then had a meeting with the branch president about the
branch in the senior center. Later, we had a lesson with C next to the
baptismal font. We talked about his baptism and he got super excited which was
awesome to see.
Saturday we gathered information about people that we wanted
to visit. Then we went and visited some people that used to be taught. We
knocked on one house and asked for someone and the guy responded that she had
died during the summer. That was kinda awkward. We looked at the last time she
was taught and it said 2 months ago which was weird. We called the bishop and
he told us she had died during the summer so we weren't sure who they taught.
Maybe a ghost or something. Both of our lessons cancelled which was
disappointing but we managed to meet with the Stake President. Elder S was in the area for 6 months and never met him which I thought was weird.
Sunday we went to 2 church's and I spoke in one on charity
and connected it to ministering to the people around you. We had an awesome
lesson with D and L where we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Then we met with a member of the Stake Presidency (President Nelson(Sorry, that
was definetly click-bait)) talked about missionary work. Our other 2 lessons
that day cancelled or forgot which sad and nobody talked to us which was also
sad.
Miracle of the Week: There was a huge challenge that popped
out of nowhere and that I had no idea what to to about. Right after that, I had
to go teach a lesson and I was able to focus on what I was doing and teach a
lesson to people.
Quote of the Week: I told you I knew where we were. I've
only went the wrong way a couple times.
Pictures (hopefully in order):
1. a cool picture I saw
2. my superior baking skills (only slightly burnt)
3. one last picure with elder S
4. "i cant belive it's not butter"
