I have an Alaskan Son! 3-2-2020

When you train a new missionary on you mission, that new missionary is called your son.

On Tuesday we were somewhat alive again. We went over and had a lesson with C where we talked about why we are here, where we came from before we were born, and where we go after we die. At the end of the lesson she told us that she wanted to be baptized but not right now and that she didn't want to come to church which was sad. After dinner, we went to have a lesson but the kid's dad said they can't be taught yet :( so the mom is going to get the grandparents to talk to him. Then we had a super intense lesson with J. She is ready to be baptized and she knows it but she is scared so we invited her to pray and come back next week with a date for baptism. Then we went back to our apartment and packed.

Wednesday was transfers so we packed up Elder S stuff and then I went to them mission office to find out who my new companion and trainee will be. One of the fun things about that was I got to see my trainer again (Elder W) which was awesome. My new companion is Elder W and he is from Alaska. After we got back, we went and were waiters in an etiquette dinner which was lots of fun.

Thursday morning we set up Elder W bike and then used the box it came in to make a game for one of our lessons later. Then we went out and visited a referral from some sisters in Temple Square and set up a lesson with him. Then we had a lesson with A where we finished talking about the Gospel of Jesus Christ using "the floor is lava". She is super awesome and prepared. Then Elder W went to a lesson with Elder K and I hung out with his sick companion.

Today we had multi-district council and talked about the importance of going to church and helping the people we teach get to church. Church is awesome, we feel the spirit and learn about Jesus and His love for us. We had a lesson with J (the referral from the Temple Square sisters). We were planning on showing him around the church but apparently he had been to church before so we scrambled and made up a lesson on the fly. The rest of the day we went and visited leaders in the wards and talked to them and introduced Elder W.

Saturday we went and raked the yard of one of our ward mission leaders. They had a tree with a bunch of these pod things. Something that was weird is that when we were wandering around, we saw a couple of little girls (under 8) climbing on a roof. We went over and asked them if they were supposed to be on there and they sheepishly admitted that they weren't. Then after calling their parents and getting no answer, we knocked on the door and told their dad that they were up there.

Sunday we had our 3 sacrament meetings as normal. Winter decided to make an appearance as it snowed but the ground was too warm after being 50+ degrees the last two days. We had a lesson with A and we invited her to be baptized and we decided on the date of march 28th. I am super excited! Then in the evening, we had a lesson with W, D, and Dand the S were there too.

Miracle of the Week: One of the wards got a new bishop and we kept trying to catch him and when we walked into church, he stopped and chatted with us and we set up a meeting with him.

Quote of the Week: "I'm dead but I still win!"
