I Almost Kill My Son 4/13/2020

Not much happened on Teusday.

Wednesday we went to the mission office and I took my driving test to let me get a car. Later we had a meeting with the Starkweathers to talk about the new stake we are covering. After doing a facebook live scripture study, we had a lesson with a member who going through a hard time then we had a lesson with Ambree where we reviewed the baptismal interview questions.

Thursday we had a bunch of lessons with members which went pretty well.

Friday was pretty crazy, we had a morning meeting with the stake president over our new stake and talked to him about what was going on in the stake and how we could help out. Later we went and picked up our car from the mission office. It is a 2017 Toyota RAV4 which is superior to a Honda CRV. It infidelity was weird to be driving again after 8 months of biking or walking, but I survived the drive back to our apartment. However, we are still inside so it's not like we are going to be driving anywhere except shopping. In the evening we had a bunch of meetings with Bishops to introduce ourselves and to get to know them.

We had a massive scare of Saturday. When a missionary goes home, their last companion is referred to as "killing" them. Early Saturday morning Elder Watson got an bunch of emails that he was going home. In the evening, President Call called us and told us that it was a false alarm because they sent that out as a mass email and it went to some wrong people. We reached out to our ward mission leaders and introduced ourselves to them. Then we reached out to the people that were being taught in the new stake and had a lesson with one and set up a lesson with another.

Sunday was Easter! After contacting some bishops that we weren't able to contact earlier. We had a little Easter thing where we sung hymns, took the sacrament, and watched Easter videos and that was a great time. The spirit was pretty strong. We also were able to share an Easter message with a couple we are teaching but the husband got a migraine 5 minutes in (thanks Satan). We also set some things up for J's baptism on Saturday. For lunch I made pancakes and since I have no cooking talent, I wrote out "He is risen" in whipped cream and raspberries. Some people wonder why we don't wear crosses or have them in our churches if we are Christians. It is because the cross wasn't the end. Jesus Christ rose from the tomb on the 3rd day and lives today, guiding us lovingly back to Him if we let Him.

Miracle of the Week: Since we gained another stake in our area, we had lots of things to do with that. We were able to keep busy contacting the stake president, bishops, and ward mission leaders. It helped us stay busy and focused which was awesome.

Quote of the Week: "Can we do service for people if they stay inside and we work outside? No. What if we didn't bring our nametags and go incognito?"

Pictures (hopefully in order):
