Only A Couple Grease Fires Later... 5/11/2020

Tuesday was actually pretty eventful. In the morning, we had interviews with President Call. We had a good chat about some of the logistics of all the new missionaries coming in as well as other things. Then we had a lesson over the phone with D and L where we talked about some of the commandments. Later we had a couple zoom lessons with members before dinner. For dinner, I cooked steak for the first time (shout out to Noah for the marinade recipe and instructions) and it turned out amazing. We had a nice 1 and a half foot flare up while cooking it on our gas stove but all was well. In the evening we had a couple more lessons with members.

Wednesday was fairly uneventful. We had some lessons with members and a meeting with a bishop.

Thursday we had district council and talked about using technology to share to gospel with people. We also were able to have our fourth lesson with an 8 year old who is getting baptized on Saturday. We are teaching her 5 lessons in the 5 days before her baptism per request of her parents.

Friday we set up for A's baptism. We had to figure out a way to space out 20 chairs in a room that isn't as big as it should be but we managed. We also had a lesson with J where we played Jeopardy with her and Elder and Sister S (the senior couple missionaries) which was fun. We also had someone just come by and drop us off some steaks which was great! That's how we got the second flare up while cooking (no pictures though of this one).

Saturday A got baptized! Everything went well and it was a great experience even though we were all wearing masks and were all spread apart. Later we had a call with B and we had some YSA sister missionaries join us which was fun. Later we also had a call with M which was fun as well.

Sunday was mother's day! My mom is awesome! We called and chatted for a little which was great.

Miracle of the Week: We were able to go do service for a lady Thursday and get out of the apartment! We thought we were going to mow her lawn but when we got there, we learned that the bishop of that ward had just come before and done it but she told us we could help take out some of her dead bushes in her backyard and we did that for a while which was nice to be outside.

Quote of the Week: "Now I can seduce girls with my fantastic cooking Skills"
