Church!!! (Attempt 3) 6/1/2020


I am struggling today with technology so bear with me...

Tuesday we had service taking out rose bushes which was pretty brutal. Rose bushes are not fun. It definitely tore up my clothes a little. We also had a lesson with J where we watched Spiritual Crocodiles with her and talked about it. It is a fantastic video based on a talk by Elder Packer about the dangers of sin and how we can stay safe.

Thursday we helped a family prepare for a wedding reception in their backyard by doing some yardwork and it was pretty hot outside but we survived. We also had Multidistrict Council and that was pretty good. We talked about how important it is for us to be examples to the people we teach and members as well by being obedient.

Friday we helped a family that is moving load up a bunch of cabinets dressers and beds which was fun.

Saturday we called M and she asked us what scripture has made the most impact on us and that has been an interesting thing to think about since so many scriptures are super awesome it has been hard to narrow it down.

Sunday we went to Church!!! After a lesson in the morning, we went to church and it has been 2 months since I last went and boy was it great. I am no longer inactive! 

Miracle of the Week: Long story short, one of our ward mission leaders set up a lesson for us with a family that is trying to come back to church and one of their kids isn't baptized and so we started teaching them.

Headed Home! 8-23-2021

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
