Heart Attack 7-20-2020


Tuesday we had lessons with a family that their last name sounded similar to Covid which I thought was pretty funny. Then right afterwards we had a lesson with a family that the wife looked like Brie Larsen which kept throwing me off.

Wednesday morning we helped move branches from a fallen tree into a trailer so they could take them to the dump. I discovered that suspended branches can be bouncey like a trampoline until they all snap at once and your legs fall through. We then went to District Council and had interviews with President Call and it was nice to see him and talk.He is such an example and role model to me. He has so much spiritual power, humor, love, and intelligence. We were able to share a scriptural story from the New Testament with some of Elder F's friends from home which was pretty fun.

Thursday we talked to M which was good. We talked about the Liahona from 1 Nephi 15 and 16 as well as prayer.

Saturday we had a bunch of lessons including one with K in person. Our District Leader (Elder K) told us if we taught enough lessons he would give us brownie mix and we were able to hit it which was awesome.

Sunday we went to 2 church meetings and spoke in one. We wrote our talks on Saturday but I wasn't a huge fan of mine and in the morning I felt impressed to speak about something else. I quickly wrote about a new challenge that the stake put out. When we got there, the Stake President came in and during announcements got up and talked about the challenge for about 5 minutes and I was like you've got to be kidding me. Needless to say that it wasn't my best talk. I wasn't awful but I definitely was thrown off the whole time.

Miracle of the Week: Our C had a Heart Attack this week which was pretty scary. We don't know the details but he is doing fine and his surgery went really well.

Headed Home! 8-23-2021

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
