🎶 The 21st Night Of September 🎶 9-21-2020

 

Tuesday we went on exchanges so Elder V could pass someone off too other missionaries and I went with another missionary to an in person lesson. They mentioned that they thought Utah wasn't the mission field and the next 15 minutes we talked about how God is bringing people to Utah to hear the gospel which I thought was pretty funny.

 

Thursday we had service where we trimmed bushes and cleaned up around a chicken coop. In the afternoon we did more filming for our video this time with the sister missionaries which was a lot of fun. Then on the way home we grabbed Dairy Queen.

 Friday we had District Council. It was really good. We talked about humility and something that was brought up was how all the Christlike attributes are connected and how part of conversion is gaining those attributes little by little. Also we talk about being in tune with the spirit and also that instruments have to be in tune. Only when in tune can the desired outcome happen. We did a lot of editing afterwards.

 Sunday we went to church 3 times which was fun. We made it to a ward that we hadn't be able to make it to yet which was nice. We also had a lesson with K. He mentioned how he was worried about the water for his baptism but he felt better when we told him that the font isn't very deep and he would be able to stand.

 Miracle of the Week: we had an amazing lesson with a member family on Sunday. We had invited them to share the gospel and a couple of the family members had miracles that they were super excited to share with us.

Headed Home! 8-23-2021

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
