Another oops 11-16-2020

 

Another fat thumb caused me to send the other email without anything else aside from pictures.

Tuesday Morning we had District Council and talked about leaving powerful invitations which went pretty well. We weren't given a topic to talk about so I was kinda freestyling as far as what we were going to talk about but the Zone Leaders came and they said it was good. We also had half our appointments cancel and some of our appointments got deleted from the calendar so we ended up calling people and asking them when the lesson we had set up with them was which was pretty funny. People had some funny responses to us telling them what happened.

Wednesday we were able to meet with the Stake President and the high councilors over missionary work which was great because one of them was new. Then we had a great council with some of the ward mission leaders.

Thursday was pretty funny because while calling people not a single person I called picked up after around an hour of calling and most of the people that Elder C called picked up which I thought was hilarious and he was not amused. We had a miscommunication between us and one of our Ward Mission Leaders and we got a call from some people we had an appointment but didn't know about which lead to us freaking out and running over to the church to get ready for it. We were supposed to have an hour and a half exchange over zoom with the Zone Leaders but they had a lesson go 50 minutes longer than they planned so they showed up late to say the least.

Friday morning we got together with the other District Leaders in the Zone with the Zone Leaders and the Sister Training Leaders and counseled together and set goals for the next months. We also had a great time brainstorming about ideas to help everyone which I found very helpful and insightful

Sunday only made it to one church which is the least amount of times at church for a while. We had a great meeting with one of the bishops where I introduced myself and we talked about how we could help him and he gave some ideas. We had a scare where one of the missionaries told us that we were supposed to be speaking at church and we panicked but we made some calls and they were wrong.

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
