Haircuts And Lots Of Church 9-28-2020
Tuesday we were able to go to Pace's and I got a very good rainbow (slushie with ice cream in the middle) which was very good. We had a lot of lessons so we were pretty busy.
Wednesday we had another lesson with K. It has been so cool to see how he has grown in the last couple weeks. Despite normally having a hard focusing he has been locked in and really paying attention which is great.
Thursday we had our first day of Mission Conference. Elder Gonzalez of the Utah Area Presidency joined us in a mission-wide zoom call taught us. One great thing that he brought up and reminded us of is to always remember to bring our conversations to Christ who is our Savior. Unfortunately since it was over zoom it was a little hard to understand him sometimes since the connection was sometimes spotty. We also did more service cleaning up trees from the wind storm a couple weeks ago. We also helped get a basketball hoop out of a foam pit which is a lot harder than it sounds.
Friday we had the 2nd day of Mission Conference where Elder Gonzalez brought us some good ideas about teaching. In the evening we were able to have an in person lesson in a backyard which an old couple. They were super awesome and had some cool experiences they shared. The wife was a secretary to one of the Prophets (Ezra Taft Benson) and a couple of the apostles and the husband is one of the top genealogy experts in the world.
Sunday we made it to 4 sacrament meetings before having bunch of other meetings and lessons. We also spoke in one ward. I talked about how when Christ is invited into a situation in the scriptures peace and joy follows and so it is with our lives. It was also Camille's birthday!!! She is now 17 which is pretty crazy. Love you Camille! When we were walking to church, we saw a lady cleaning her windows and when we said hi she came over and apologized to us for cleaning on Sunday. I thought that was pretty funny that she thought we were the police or would be mad at her for cleaning her windows or something.
Miracle of the Week: As more of the members of the wards get involved with us, people are starting to pop up that are interested in learning about the gospel which has been great to see.
Quote of the Week: "Hey! I know you guys!"
