🦃🤒😷🤢💣💪🍾❗ (Or maybe Thanksgiving) 11-30-2020
Tuesday we were able to do service and trim bushes at a house. We did it with a guy who is leaving on his mission in a week and he was really fun to chat with. Later we had interviews with President McConkie and we talked about focusing on the things we can control and how the other things will fall into place which was good to hear from someone besides me telling myself that.
Wednesday we prepped for and had our Uplifting Thoughts stand next to a Spring Water Well that lots of people come by. We were able to have some good conversations with people. One lady started to cry after we shared one and she said she had been having a hard time since her husband had died recently. We also started to make plans to go caroling in December to people.
Thanksgiving! In the morning we had a couple lessons with people for a short time. We had a panic when we had some change of plans last second so we ended up having to run around in a panic trying to get a knife that would work to carve the turkey. We got together with our district and had district council and chatted about things. We did this while the food was cooking then after we ate a dinner with everyone which was lots of fun. After we had the rest of the day to relax.
Friday we got together with other missionaries and worked on a video for the Facebook page which was lots of fun. Stay tuned in the next couple of weeks for it. After we went to Dairy Queen. One of the other missionaries took his mask off to take a bite of ice cream and the manager freaked out and started yelling at him which was pretty funny. We also had Taco Bell for lunch and they gave us free cinnamon twists which was awesome. During dinner we had 10ish minutes left before dinner was over so I was like I will take a short nap. I woke up around 45 minutes later and was like oops. Thankfully we didn't miss any appointments or anything.
Saturday was goofy. In the morning I took another missionary to get a Covid test. We showed up at 8am because that is when the mission nurse told us to be there. We texted in to get in line and they told us they didn't open till 9am. So we had to wait an hour till he could get tested. We also did more planning for our video over zoom so we should be able to film shortly.
Sunday we went to 3 sacrament meetings and lots of other meetings. We had a good lesson with a recent convert who recently was ordained an Elder and so we talked about giving blessings and things like that.
Miracle of the Week: we were able to get together for Thanksgiving! We took precautions and stuff but it was lots of fun and made it so we weren't super depressed.
Quote of the Week: "We learn of Christ and His Atonement by going to church and reading the scriptures. We come to know Christ and understand His Atonement through reaching out to Him during our trials"
