Christmas and Hearts!!! 12-28-2020


Tuesday we had ZLC so I got to see the other District Leaders in the Zone. It was really good and insightful. We talked about and set goals for the Zone. We also looked at how the zone is doing. In the past two months, our Zone has exploded which has been super awesome to see. It has been super exciting to see that happen since I have gotten in Centerville. In the evening we went caroling with another family which was lots of fun. Their kids were super fun. At one point they were worried about being cold so I told them to hop up and down to warm up. We ended up having 4 people hopping up and down outside a door which was hilarious. We also had a meeting with the Stake President and shared some of plans with him which he had some good ideas.

Wednesday we called a bunch of people. We also went on exchanges with other Elders in the District and I got to know Elder N better and talked about ideas and ways to work better and more efficiently. 

 Thurday was Christmas Eve! We went on exchanges again but this time with Elder H and had a good chat with him. We talked a lot about his reasons for serving a mission and talked about effort. It has been interesting for me to see the times where I am having the most fun and the happiest has been when I have been working hard and we talked about that and he agreed with that sentiment. After we got together as a district and made hearts together so we could heart attack people's doors later. When we arrived there, we ambushed one of the sisters during their lesson and silly stringed them. After that we ate dinner together and had District Council. It was really focused on Christ (even more so than normal). At the end we shared our testimonies of Christ and that was a good experience that everyone enjoyed.

Christmas! We opened presents and hung out and called home. In the evening went with Elder H and N and heart attacked people's doors which was lots of fun. After we did that, we delivered gifts to the sisters and then silly stringed them again.

Saturday we made more hearts and delivered more of them. This time we went to the sisters in the district and heart attacked their doors and knocked on the door and ran away.

Sunday we spoke in one sacrament meeting. They asked us to on Saturday and we said of course. We wrote our talks Saturday but I woke up on Sunday morning and was like darn, I don't like it and had around a hour to write a new talk. I think it well though. The rest of the day was filled with meetings which was good.

Miracle of the Week: One of our bishops reached out to us and told us about this family that we can teach! We reached out and are setting up a lesson with them hopefully this week.

Quote of the Week: "Just say it angrily. I am angry! That's perfect!"

Headed Home! 8-23-2021

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
