Endless Exchanges!!! 1-4-2021

Tuesday we went on exchanges with the Zone leaders for a couple hours which was lots of fun. We spent a decent amount of time getting to know each other since I didn't know the one I was with very well. We also showed the secret room in our church building which they thought was pretty exciting.

Wednesday we had Zone Conference in the morning which was a good time. We talked about the 57 subtopics of Jesus Christ in the topical guide. Some people shared some scriptures that had struck them and we talked about that.

Thursday was New Years Eve. I went on exchanges with Elder N for the whole day. We had planned on working on our area map but when we got to the library they said they were closing in 30 minutes which was very disappointing. When we were getting dinner from Tonyburgers my trainer's trainer showed up and so we were able to take a posterity picture. In the evening we had a district zoom call and played some games together which was lots of fun.

 Friday we planned for our weekly fireside on Sunday. We got some bad news and I was feeling pretty annoyed so we went and got Fiiz (soda) for our district and delivered it to everyone. Afterwards we were right next to the Bountiful Temple so we went over to it and walked around the outside (since the grounds were closed) and took pictures. We also had planned to go the library to work on our area map but the library was closed. After delivering Fiiz to everyone and going to the temple we were feeling better which was good.

 Saturday we went on exchanges again and I went with Elder H this time for the whole day. I don't remember too much of what we did (and I failed to write in my journal 🤫😬).

 Sunday we had a bunch of meetings and churchs that we went to. We also had record attendance at our weekly fireside. We talked about setting goals for the new year and it went pretty well.

 Miracle of the Week: Sunday we had been having meetings and appointments and I was pretty tired. We got into a lesson which a couple where the husband had just received the Melcheizedek Priesthood and is preparing to enter the temple. We talked about the temple at length and the spirit was SUPER strong. I teared up as we talked about being there. I know without any doubt or question that the temple is a House of God and that the ordinances preformed there are real. My experiences in the temple are sacred and precious and I am super excited for them to open up again to go back.

Headed Home! 8-23-2021

I'll be finishing up my mission tomorrow and will be flying home Tuesday. Things came together and J was able to baptized on Sunday. We were so excited and she was super ready to make that covenant. Just another email about conference 4/6/2020

Fun story: I just got a call and I have been called to be a District Leader (in charge of a small group of missionaries) and they added another stake to our area as well. Shout out to Elder K for being a district leader as well!! This week was pretty interesting. The beginning we we didn't have much to do and it was kinda miserable. However, the second half of the week we were like screw it, we are going to work hard because we have nothing else to do. As that happened, we saw that we were both much more happier and a lot less depressed. I we had more lessons with people as well as the chance to talk to some of my friends (y'all) about the church as well which awesome to see them and talk about what brings me happiness. General Conference was Saturday and Sunday and it was fantastic. Last General Conference we were told that this one was going to be not only memorable but unforgettable and boy did they pull out all the stops. Went our church building and watched ...

Handcuffs, a Salon and lots of Ice Cream 7-20-2021

Monday night they had a BBQ across the street and a the police came and did a presentation and gave tours of some of their vehicles. They also would cuff you if you wanted.   Tuesday we crashed a youth activity and the young women were doing a salon so we joined in an get masks and had my toenails painted.    Wednesday we rearranged our bedroom a little to give more space for our beds which ended up working out well. In the evening we had an ice cream social with one of the wards we cover and we got to chat with the and met a lot of people. They also had a ton of left over ice cream so we now have a stash of ice cream at the church whenever we want it.   Thursday we went to this homemade ice cream place in downtown bountiful which as really good ice cream.
