Losing Traction While Driving 😬😵🤪 12-21-2020

Tuesday we had transfers! The whole morning was just running back and forth taking people to new areas and things like that. When we got back I have a new companion! Elder C is from Iowa. He is pretty tall and I am super excited for this transfer! We went on a walk and showed him all of our buildings we cover.

Wednesday we drove back to Clinton to grab the rest of Elder C's stuff. On the way back we swung by ocean mart and I bought some rice and aloe drink. Also, J is planning on getting baptized Sunday!

Thursday we had another road trip. This time to the mission office and we picked up packages since we would be seeing the district later. Then we got lunch at a diner that gave us it for free which was awesome. We made sure to tip a lot. After some planning we went on a walk. In the evening we picked up Fiiz (fancy soda) and delivered it to the district along with the packages we had picked up earlier. On the way one of the Sister's apartments which is up in the mountians it was snowing and we lost traction and began to skid out. I braked (we weren't going fast for that reason) and stopped. Elder Christensen was like don't you have 4 wheel drive on this car. I was like oh yeah, duh. After we put that on, we didn't have any more problems.

Friday we had a weird Multidistrict Council. Instead of having all the district in the zone together they had a uniform plan for the District Leaders (me and the other ones) to talk about in their own little meetings. I think it went really well. We talked about finding people to teach and some new ideas. We also talked about being bold. When we did roleplays (practice with each other) I had people teach with not with their normal companions. I paired up and Elder with a Sister and had them practice what we talked about on me which was really funny. There was a good amount of awkwardness which I enjoyed watching as they tried to teach together.

Saturday was really strange. I think the whole day we only 1 or 2 people not pick up when we called. It was super weird as we didn't plan on that so our whole day got thrown off. It wasn't a bad thing it was just funny since we aren't used to everyone picking up.

Sunday was also pretty crazy. Aside from going to 2 Christmas programs at church, we had a couple lessons with people which might turn into more teaching opportunities. J also got baptized! He was supposed to get baptized the week I got to Centerville but due to challenges and covid things got delayed. It was a super great experience and He was glowing with joy afterwards. We also went caroling again with another family which was lots of fun.

Miracle of the Week: I am so grateful for personal revelation! This week while trying to figure how best to apply everything for Multidistrict Council, I spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to fit everything together. After more prayers and a scripture sent to ne by the zone leaders, everything fell into place in a way I felt good about. I love that we can reach out to God in prayer and He will answer and give us the help we need.

Quote of the Week: "So what's this Christmas message about? Um, Christmas?"

Pictures (hopefully in order):
