Poor Burnt Sausage 1-18-2021

Tuesday we had District Council and interviews with President Call. It was great to meet with President Call for an interview. It had been a while since I had one with him but we had a good chat about my studies of the scriptures and of Christ. For District Council we had one of our ward mission leaders come and he helped us practice talking to people in person.

Wednesday we ran some errands in the morning including going to the mission office for mail which was good. In the afternoon we did some service walking some dogs which was a lot fun. While walking we discovered some other sisters in the district were also walking a dog and so we went and "ran" into them which was pretty funny. Their dog was probably a fourth the size of the dog I was walking (who we affectionately called Burnt Sausage) but yipped and tried to bite her anyways (see pure evil picture).

Thursday we went on exchanges. We ended up calling a bunch of people. I got my first driving violation which was pretty funny. There was a storm drain divot that went across the entire road and I drove over it at 7mph (I watched the speedometer) and still bottomed out the car because the dip was so big. We have devices on our car that monitor our driving but because I had bottomed out it thought I was driving very aggressively. Oh well.

Friday we had service for a 3 or so hours helping someone move which was a lot of work and was a party. Fortunately they had put their stuff in a storage unit (because we can't do service inside) so we were able to help move that to the new house and unload stuff into their garage. We were supposed to go on exchanges with the Zone Leaders but they cancelled because one of their roommates got tested for covid (came back negative from what I heard).

Saturday we did lots of planning and calling people. We also visited some people with one of our ward mission leaders which was good to be outside and be able to hang out with him. It was a really nice day outside. We also delivered Fiiz and people's favorite candy to the district in the evening. We rang the doorbells and ran away which was fun even though they knew it was us.

Sunday was lots of meetings and church. We also had a Q&A with the youth in our area which was fun. We lost track of time so the zoom meeting expired when we weren't expecting it to which was a little awkward but really funny.

Miracle of the Week: While planning District Council I knew what I wanted to do and that I wanted one of the ward mission leaders to come to help out. The whole week I felt like I didn't need to talk to him and then the Sunday evening before I asked and he wasn't sure. However, his schedule changed last minute so he was able to join us and gave some super helpful insights and feedback to us.

Quote of the Week: "Man's extremity can be God's opportunity"

 Pictures (hopefully in order):

2-3. Dog walk meet up with the sisters

4. the personification of evil
