Love: The Essence of the Gospel 2-15-2021

Happy Valentines day! I hope everyone is doing great! Remember that God loves you!

Tuesday we went and walked another dog. We also had a lesson with H and K. We had planned to have one of their neighbors who they knew well join in on the lesson. 10 minutes before the lesson they texted and said they had been exposed to covid and so we had scramble and figure out what to do. We just ended up having her join over zoom which was pretty good. Fortunately the delay wasn't too bad.

Wednesday we went and visited someone we are hoping to teach at a care center. The way that we had to do it was they opened the window and we stood outside and talked with our masks on through the screen to him. He is doing well but still recovering from an injury. In the evening we had a meeting with the young men in one of our wards which was a lot of fun. We talked about Christlike Attributes. We talked about how Judgement will be not as much based on our actions as much as the results of our actions or what we have become. If we have become like Christ, our actions will naturally reflect that and be good but the opposite isn't always true.

Thursday I went on exchanges with Elder R who has been out on his mission for 2ish weeks. It was really good to get to know him and we had a good time. We went to the mission office and picked up a bike rack for the car and a bike for him. On the way back we went by the AP's house and dumped a bunch of atomic fireballs (the candy) on their front doorstep. They had recently banned sending fireball emojis in the zone chat so we did dropped off the fireballs to show our displeasure.

Friday we had Multidistrict Council. It went well which I was happy about. I had been trying to planning it for the whole week but in praying for guidance on what to talk about (which I do for all my district councils and such) I kept getting a feeling to just wait. After that kept happening and Friday kept getting closer and closer, I was getting a little nervous but I kept getting the same feeling to wait. On Thursday I had a call with the Sister Training Leaders (who have responsibility for the sister missionaries) and they said they were planning on coming to it and that they would love to help out with stuff. That happened on Wednesday night a little before I went to bed. Thursday when I sat down to plan, all the sudden I felt the inspiration that I had been seeking from God and I was able to slowly plan and get things together. I ended up finishing planning for it only 40ish minutes before multidistrict council started. I do know that God is willing to talk to us and give us the guidance we need to help others and our own lives. It is in His timing however and not ours and it often comes line upon line, precept upon precept. Later we had a service project where we helped load a bunch of yard waste onto a trailer. Whilst that happened we say about 4 mice run out of the various piles of stuff we were moving away.

Saturday a lot of crazy stuff happened. We had a couple of surprise visitors which was really fun. We also went on exchanges and had a pass off lesson where Elder C with with one of the Elders who they were teaching who moved to our area so we can start teaching him. We also made bellybuttons and delivered them to the district for valentine's day. Driving up the mountain while it is snowing pretty hard is always exciting but we didn't have any problems.

Sunday in the evening we had a call with all the primary aged children (4ish-11) in our area and their parents. We talked about how we can show our love to those around us including our parents, our siblings, and everyone else. We finished by talking about the greatest act of love every preformed where Jesus Christ suffered, died, and rose from the tomb for us. I know that He did rise on the 3rd day and that He lives today and loves each one of us. He still is beckoning to us to follow Him for His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Have week!

I stuck the miracle of the week in the email. See if you can find it.

Quote of the Week: "Don't peg people with apples! Give them seeds."
