Only Slightly Impaled 3-8-2021

 Once again I am fine. 'Twas merely a flesh wound.

 Tuesday morning we had District Council. We talked about the power of testimony and how it brings the Holy Ghost to witness of truth. We watched a video found here https://mediasrv.lds.org/media-services/ML/size/764295703001/640/480/1452828 which talks about that is and one of my favorite videos. Afterwards we had some cheesecake and celebrated Sister K's birthday which was last week. After that we went to Tonyburger and grabbed lunch together. After we got home we went and visited someone we are teaching who is in a care center and talked to him through the screen of his window. While we were there, his wife showed up and was so happy to see us there and she talked about some of the problems they have been having with his healing process and other things that have happened that were hard. It was super cool because we got there around 45 minutes later than planned to visit him and because we showed up when we did we were able to run into his wife and talk to her. Later we were able to walk a dog and in the evening we attended the setting apart of a missionary we have gotten to know pretty well which was awesome.

Wednesday morning we went and filmed an ad for the mission facebook page. It is a spoof of geico's hump day ad and it was a blast to make. We had another dog walk. In the evening we had a devotional with the young women and their leaders for one of our wards. They asked us to talk about the Atonement which was lots of fun to talk about. I love talking about the Atonement of Jesus Christ and so it was great. We talked about the redeeming power of the Atonement and then about the Enabling power of the Atonement among other things. The Redeeming power is what cleanses us from our sins and the Enabling power is strength we receive as we try to be better and become like Christ is.

Thursday we edited the facebook ad which took a while since we kept running into problems but we were able to figure them out. We had a lesson with H and K and talked about the word of wisdom and following the prophet. It went well and they told us how they had an amazing experience going to church in person last Sunday which we were super happy to hear. The speakers apparently had talked and spoken about exactly what they needed to hear which was a miracle for them and gave them lots of comfort.

Friday we had another dog walk. We also helped the missionary we have gotten to know with well with a lesson that he will be teaching in the MTC. He was super nervous since it'll be his first lesson but we helped him plan for it and gave some tips and he will do great.

Saturday morning we went and helped the sisters with some service. We helped someone they are teaching tear out dead branches of their bushes next to their house. We were there from 10:30 to around 2. The bushes were rough and I got all scratched up. During it, I looked down and saw a small piece of wood sticking out of my arm. Apparently it had impaled itself into me which was pretty funny. We had a great time and only got a little sunburned which was even better.

Sunday nothing too crazy happened and this email is long enough already.

Miracle of the Week: We got a text from one of our bishops Sunday night asking us to call him. We called him as soon as we saw it and he told us about a family that wants to be baptized. The mom left the church because of pressure from her ex-husband and now wants to rejoin and her kids want to be baptized as well! We are super excited to teach them!

We survived quarantine so far! Tuesday we had a lesson with a family who are helping another family come back to church and hopefully we will be able to start teaching their whole family. We called all of our Ward Mission Leaders and told them we would be quarantined for 2 weeks as we had been exposed to another missionary with covid. We also watched a Christmas thing from the missionaries serving at Temple Square as they celebrated the start of the Christmas season with lights and music.   Wednesday we had Zone Conference over zoom which was really good. It was the best Zone Conference we have had in a while. Lots Of Smoke Plus A Sudden Nosebleed 8-9-2021

  Monday night we had a lesson with L and W which went great! Afterwards we were walking home and we saw two people next to their cars with a bunch of stuff on the sidewalk. It turns out they were leaving where they lived so we helped pack everything they needed into their car. Tuesday we helped a lady move. Fortunately we has called a member who we have been meeting with to help us out which was inspired since he used to work at a moving company and was super helpful and there wasn't many of us there. There was a total of 5 of us so it took a while but we got everything. In the evening we had another lesson with L and W where we talked about the 10 commandments. Wednesday we went on exchanges. I went with our district leader Elder N. We did service helping clean things up after the massive rain storm Sunday caused some flooding.  Miracle of the Week: This past Sunday was Mother's Day. The true miracle of this holiday is the influence my Mom has had on me. Her love and caring have been a constant in my life that I have relied on. Among the other amazing ways she has influenced me, one is she instilled in me a love of music. One of my earliest memories is at church during hymns her telling me the words to say before singing them along with everyone else. That along with putting us to bed with a classical CD that I still recognize songs from to this day. Her diligence and love for Jesus Christ is another influence she has had on me. She has demonstrated for me as well as those around us wherever she is. She shows her love for Christ by obeying his commandments in word and deed.
