Setting Fires Inside A House 3-22-2021
Tuesday we had a lesson with a member of the stake presidency and he has the same last name of one of the ward mission leaders I had in Farmington. I asked if he was related and it ended up that it was his brother which was awesome. In the evening we had a lesson with a member family. We had called the mom about one of their neighbors and after she asked us if we could give a lesson on repentance and forgiveness for her kids. We decided that we would use a magic trick to teach it. We accidently set a post-it note on fire. Elder Hunter and I immediately tried to blow it out but we had our masks on. We were laughing so hard about trying to blow out fire with our masks on that we couldn't get enough air in our lungs to try to blow again. Eventually we got enough air and blew. This caused embers from the post-it note to fly across the room. Fortunately nothing caught on fire and the parents thought it was the funniest thing ever. The dad tried to spin it and say when we repent we can feel warm inside and one of the sons was like "I don't want to be that warm". As we were leaving, the mom was like "I'm so glad we invited you over, we will never forget that lesson" while laughing.
Wednesday we had Zone Conference which was good. We talked a lot about planning and things along those lines. One of my favorite part was the Zone Leaders kept messing names up over and over again without realizing it. We hurried back and were able to watch a youth musical broadcast which was a lot better than I was expecting which I was happy about.
Thursday we had service helping load wood and things into a dumpster from someone who is renovating their pool. We also went on a dog walk.
Friday we had Multidistrict Council. They talked a lot about planning to find which was good. Afterwards we went to go to Fiiz but when we showed up, the line was huge so we didn't go. We went back to the people renovating their pool and broke up concrete with a sledgehammer and moved it away which was a lot of fun. We also got to talk to a lot of other people which were there.
Saturday after playing basketball in the morning we left our keys in the church gym. We had to call someone to open the door for us so we could get in and grab the keys. For dinner we went to a sit down Mexican restaurant. We ordered some nachos for an appetizer and it was so big that when our food showed up we couldn't eat much of it. We walked out with a good amount of food needless to say. We also set up some tabletop games I got for Christmas for use while calling people. They are hilariously hard.
Sunday we invited ourselves to ward councils. One of them we told them we only wanted 5-10 minutes but the bishop was so into it, asking questions and things, that it took almost 20 minutes which we were excited that they were so excited. We also went to our classic 3 sacrament meetings. We also went to the stake mission prep and we talked about using the scriptures to teach parts of the plan of salvation and addressing peoples problems they could be going through.
Quote of the Week: "Guess who may or may not have started a fire in a members home and then tried to blow it out with our masks on. ๐๐ ๐"
Miracle
of the Week: We didn't set fire to the house and they thought it was hilarious
instead of getting mad.
