Sushi Go! and Lots of Taxiing 2-1-2021

Tuesday we had tranfers! I am staying with Elder C in Centerville for another 6 weeks! I am super excited!!! Tuesday we ended up driving people around as they needed to move and pick up new companions and such. We had a bunch of meetings with people about using our map and getting their help which was super good and I think answered a lot of their questions.

Wednesday we did a lot of driving as well. We took some Elders to the new missionary orientation at the mission office and then afterwards went to a sushi buffet and basked in the deliciousness. We also got some and took it to the rest of our district which they were super happy about.

Thursday we were able to be outside a bunch. In the afternoon we went on a walk with one of our ward mission leaders which was super good to get to know him more and go visit some places. We also went and visited some places with one of the youth in one of our wards. He looked like he was 17 or 18 but he was 15. He was super outgoing and we had a good time. We knocked on one door and this guy answered and we found out that he was getting married in 2 day which was pretty crazy. We were going to have another walk with someone else but they had to cancel.

Friday we had a chick-fil-a lunch with our district. We picked it up and met at a church building so we could get to know everyone now that transfers happened. Because of the way the schedule works, we won't be able to have any meetings together as a district for a couple weeks and I wanted everyone to have at least met each other a little. Later we went and visited people with a missionary who is recovering. He was about to leave on his mission but he fell off a roof and hurt his arm. We were able to meet some cool people and hopefully we will start teaching them soon.

Friday night it snowed so Saturday morning from around 8:30-12ish, we shoveled snow. It was a lot of fun and we took some shoveling videos for Elder K who wanted some from us (what a weirdo 😂). Most of the rest of the day was spent driving other missionaries. A couple people have their cars in the shop so I have to drive a lot more people than normal.

Sunday we had stake conference so all of our other meetings cancelled. We decided that we would watch it at the church with the elders that cover the other half of the stake. We made homemade egg mcmuffins and had OJ before and after we made steak, mashed potatoes, and I made a green bean salad thing that my mom makes that was delicious. Probably the best home cooked meal since before covid. We also had a really good lesson with a member family and one of our ward mission leaders. We talked a lot about receiving answers to prayers and the different ways they come. Sometimes our answers God gives can come as a burning in the bosom, a feeling of peace and comfort, a feeling that one path is right, a still small voice, guidance or advice from others, feeling good or confident, and others. We need to do our part to work and put in our effort to think for ourselves and ask in faith. Then we listen and pay attention as God answers us back. Try it out yourself! Ask God if He is there and if He loves you. When you do, you will feel His love for you as I and so many others have.

Miracle of the Week: We got a call from the Bishop of one of our wards. He had an interview with the dad of someone we are teaching and the dad wants to be more active in the church and wants to baptize his kids. He is not super open to us so it was really good for us to know so we can help him work towards preparing to do that.

Quote of the Week: "What are you doing here? Wait, why are they in the back?

Pictures (hopefully in order):
