π¦Έ♀️π₯°π©π¦π - Mothers Day 5-10-2021
Miracle of the Week: This past Sunday was Mother's Day. The true miracle of this holiday is the influence my Mom has had on me. Her love and caring have been a constant in my life that I have relied on. Among the other amazing ways she has influenced me, one is she instilled in me a love of music. One of my earliest memories is at church during hymns her telling me the words to say before singing them along with everyone else. That along with putting us to bed with a classical CD that I still recognize songs from to this day. Her diligence and love for Jesus Christ is another influence she has had on me. She has demonstrated for me as well as those around us wherever she is. She shows her love for Christ by obeying his commandments in word and deed. I love you Mom!
Tuesday we had a walk with one of our relief society counselors over missionary work which didn't go as planned. We showed up and we started walking to someone she wanted to visit. We got there and they weren't there but their neighbors where outside and we started chatting with them. We ended up being there for almost an hours and a half since they were talking and the relief society counselor's husband went and started building chairs out of scrap wood for the neighbors kids. We already knew them but it was good to get to know them better.
Wednesday we had service and there was a super friendly cat.
Thursday we had Zone Conference which was amazing. We talked about asking better questions in lessons to have the Holy Ghost teach. We also talked about prophecies about this time and about Utah which was fun. Later we had service putting mulch down for one of our bishops. Afterwards we came home and when we got there, there were a bunch of people in the driveway and a lot of cars. We figured out eventually that our landlords daughter had received a mission call and was opening it which was cool we ended up showing up for that without planning on it.
Friday we had Multidistrict Council where we talked about teaching more like Christ did as well as more about asking question to allow the spirit to teach. Later we went on a walk with one of our bishops and while we were on that, there was a huge wind which picked up dust from the Salt Lake and blew it on us for 20ish minutes (which was nasty since the Salt Lake is pretty gross). We had a good time though and he was super helpful and we will hopefully start teaching some people he told us about.
Saturday we had service with one of ward mission leaders helping digging holes for fence posts. After that we had a walk which ended up almost 2 hours but was lots of fun. We got to meet some people who had moved in recently and get to know our area better.
Sunday we had our meetings but we had less since it was mothers day. In church there were amazing talks about the influence of mothers and righteous women on the world and on people individually. I was also able to call and talk to my mom and sang happy birthday (we are weird) to her with my family.
