Lots Of Smoke Plus A Sudden Nosebleed 8-9-2021

Monday night we had a lesson with L and W which went great! Afterwards we were walking home and we saw two people next to their cars with a bunch of stuff on the sidewalk. It turns out they were leaving where they lived so we helped pack everything they needed into their car.

Tuesday we helped a lady move. Fortunately we has called a member who we have been meeting with to help us out which was inspired since he used to work at a moving company and was super helpful and there wasn't many of us there. There was a total of 5 of us so it took a while but we got everything. In the evening we had another lesson with L and W where we talked about the 10 commandments.

Wednesday we went on exchanges. I went with our district leader Elder N. We did service helping clean things up after the massive rain storm Sunday caused some flooding. We also had a lesson with a lady from Congo who was super super smart. We talked about the Plan of Salvation and when we talked about us forgetting our pre-earth life she explained to us why if we didn't forget it would ruin the our test here on earth and I couldn't have explained it any better. We also talked about Ordinances and Covenants and she is a lawyer and so I (inspired by the Holy Ghost) compared a Covenant to a contract and an Ordinance to us signing our name on the contract which was awesome.

Thursday we had District Council and talked about some Christlike attributes and how they are demonstrated in the scriptures and how we can apply them to our lives.

Nothing crazy Friday

Saturday morning we helped one of my neighbors build a driveway in his yard. We helped level the path and fill the bottom with gravel which took longer than I expected. We wrote our talks for Sunday and later went on a walk with a relief society counselor where we met a really cool family.

Sunday was pretty crazy. We spoke in the first sacrament meeting (I spoke on 3 reasons why we share the gospel with people). The second sacrament meeting was a farewell for one of the daughters of the family whose basement we live in. She is starting the MTC today. There was around 320 people all there which was more than I've seen in a long time. Our last sacrament Elder S and I were both nodding off so we went home after and took a short nap before our next meetings. Somehow I ended up sleeping well despite having a party going on upstairs. We then had a couple more meetings and a couple lessons which were great.

Miracle of the Week: We hadn't met with someone we were teaching for a couple weeks since they were on vacation and that is always scary since that's two weeks for Satan to do his thing. While planning for our lesson we weren't sure where they were at and what to do. When we got to the end lesson we were talking about Joseph Smith and the Restoration and she told us that she wants to be baptized! She told us she has felt the Spirit as she read the Book of Mormon, in church, and as we have met. We are super excited to meet again and figure when she can get baptized.

Quote of the Week: "I'll throw it back for the Lord anytime"
