Rolling Grass and Feeling Good πΏπ 4-26-2021
Tuesday we had a lesson in person with someone we are teaching which we had been trying to get to happen for a while. The lesson went really well. As we talked we asked how he felt when he read the Book of Mormon and he said when he reads it he feels peace and comfort and we talked about how the Holy Ghost witnesses of truth to us. He has a testimony of the Book of Mormon but doesn't realize that is what it is which was pretty amusing.
Wednesday we went and did more shoveling to help with the pool remodel. It was super windy so there was a lot of throwing dirt only to have a quarter of it fly back in our eyes but we persevered. We also had a lesson with a family who their daughter is getting baptized next year and talked about what it means and did a magic trick to help explain.
Thursday our water was turned off for some renovations which was awkward when we had service taking out a gate post which had about a 4ft by 1ft thing of concrete it was stuck in. We got it out after blood sweat and tears and got home to no water to shower in. We just changed into our proselytizing clothes and just kept going. Fortunately the activity we had was outside so nobody noticed our lack of shower (we think/hope).
Friday we had District Council which was hilarious because we stopped by fiiz before to grab drinks. We ended up getting stuck in the drive thru for almost an hour and being late. We did part of it over the phone until we were able to get there. Elder H and I were dying laughing while one of the other missionaries we were with was freaking out. When we got there the zone leaders where there and we had a good time explaining what had happened. Later we had service with someone we are teaching helping clean up her driveway and yard.
Saturday morning we went and helped lay sod for a little over 3 hours. Then we had a short break before we went over to someone else's house and dug a trench before laying bricks. Needless to say we were tired. Then we went on a walk with an ward mission leader. We also had a lesson with someone we are teaching which went well. We have figured out that he has a tell when he is feeling the spirit but doesn't want us to know he is. We showed a video and testified of Christ and we knew he felt the Spirit. If we can bring the spirit to a lesson then it is a good lesson and we have done our job.
Sunday we went to 2 ward conferences and a sacrament meeting. We were still tired from Saturday so we were both falling asleep during them but we managed to keep awake. Elder H told me that he nodded off for a second and when he looked up, the stake president was looking at him and they made eye contact. We also went to our bunch of other meetings. When we got back home at 2 we grabbed food and took a nap to return to functionality.
Quote of the Week: "hit em with the big bonk"
Miracle
of the Week: We were able to have the in person lesson I mentioned. But also we
were able to bring one of his neighbors and friends in the ward who happens to
be the Elders Quorum President who was super helpful. He helped us get to know
him better since I had never seen him before and only had talked over the phone
a couple times.
Pictures
(hopefully in order):
1.
Disappointing lack of hoops
2.
Too much concrete removed
